PRO TOOLS 6.1 AND BEYOND) Author, musician & filmmaker David Leathers has written a valuable handbook for Pro Tools beginners with basic understanding in computers/audio recording, and also for the experienced user.
In two sections (nine chapters) Leather navigates through the core elements of the LE system/TDM systems. Section 1 exercises allow beginners to understand Pro Tools common processes such as recording tracks, scrubbing, bouncing, looping, and mixing.
Section 2 embodies an excellent reference for those interested in PLUG INS. PLUG IN = an additional software program that enhances a larger programs function. Mentioned downloadable tips including third party software make up a good portion of the books content entitled "the extended software environment." The outline includes basic definitions of EQ, special effects software with provided website info/links.
PLUG IN examples include PITCH DOCTOR by WAVE MECHANICS a plug in that automatically adjusts intonation and out of tune notes, and DIGI'S own noise/hum reduction plug-in (DINR), which analyzes and corrects tape hiss, guitar-amp buzz, and other unwanted noise leakage.
